Job Overview
Prototypes Women's Center is a seven acre campus offering residential and outpatient substance abuse treatment, outpatient mental health treatment, and housing. Our residential facility for women and women with children is seeking a case manager. We provide comprehensive substance use disorder, mental health, and psychiatric care by an interdisciplinary team of professionals. Treatment episode ranges in time from 60 days to 6 months. Prototypes is a fast paced environment.
The Cook provides coordination and preparation of food services at the residential facility. In addition, the cook may provide kitchen coverage in residential substance abuse treatment services, which may include education to clients, assistance with inventory and meal planning, monitoring of clients as they assist with meal preparation and clean up, and/or attend staff meetings and provide feedback regarding clients in relation to their work in kitchen or in meeting their dietary needs. The cook may be requested to provide services as early as the same day the coverage is needed.
Key Responsibilities
Education and Experience:
- Food handling and preparation certification or experience in industrial or restaurant kitchen.
- Industrial kitchen tools and equipment & cooking methods techniques.
Knowledge:
- Safety and Health Department guidelines.
- Nutrition and special dietary requirements.
- Volume preparation, portion control and food preservation.
- Inventory Control System transporting monitoring.
Skills and abilities:
- Temperament to work in a residential treatment setting.
- Professionalism, punctuality, flexibility and reliability are imperative.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Culturally competent and able to work with a diverse population.
- Integrity to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
- Action oriented. Strong problem-solving skills.

Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid California driver’s license insurable by HealthRIGHT 360.
- First Aid Certified within 30 days of employment.
- CPR Certified within 30 days of employment.
