Job Overview
This is a union position.
Prototypes Substance Abuse Treatment provides 180 beds of residential treatment for women and women with children, as well as outpatient treatment for both men and women. We provide comprehensive substance use disorder, mental health, and psychiatric care by an interdisciplinary team of professionals. Treatment episode ranges in time from 60 days to 6 months. Prototypes is a fast-based environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive initial assessment of candidates’ needs.
- Ensure clients’ urgent needs are met and appropriate referrals have been made.
- Complete all documentation involved in admissions process.
- Begin process of assisting client in applying for Medi-Cal and/or County funding, as applicable.
- Complete Initial Treatment Plan, as applicable.
- Provide a warm hand off to assigned residential treatment staff upon completion of admissions process.
- Provide follow-up to ensure services are obtained.
- Provide crisis intervention as needed within scope of practice.
- Develop collaborative relationships with community partners.
- Communicate effectively with inter-disciplinary team and participate in team meetings to review cases.
Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- MSW or similar degree from an accredited program.
- Active registration with the BBS.
- At least two years of experience working with clients in a Mental Health, Substance Abuse, Domestic Violence and/or related field.
- Bilingual language required, English and Spanish.
- Good written and verbal skills.
- Strong Computer skills.
- Dependable automobile and insurance, registration and valid California Drivers License.
- Knowledge and respect of all confidentiality issues.
- People oriented.
