Company Description
HEALTHY CLIMATE COMMUNITIES is a nonprofit organization based in Kailua, Hawaii. Our mission is community education and action on climate change through restoration of the watershed of Hāmākua Marsh with a native forest.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Site Manager/Educator focused on native forestry. The Site Manager/Educator will be responsible for overseeing preparing and planting native trees to expand the native lowland forest, assisting with field trips, and engaging with the community to promote conservation efforts. The role involves managing contractors to assist with the work and collaborating with other project staff. The work is on-site in Kailua, HI and requires strenuous physical labor at times.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Botany, Forestry, Environmental Science, or related field
· Experience in managing forest ecosystems and conducting educational programs preferred
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Knowledge of native plant species and forestry conservation practices
· Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
· Knowledge of Hawaiian culture and language appreciated

Compensation
· $72,000 annual salary
