What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Manager position at Healthy Food Ingredients LLC?
Under the supervision of the VC Plant Manager, the Production Manager will work with all departments to ensure efficient machine/ operator operation of the plant. The Production Manager is responsible for ensuring that equipment/ operators are operating at optimum efficiency, coordinating all phases of manufacturing operations including primary processing, and coordination of maintenance, and that operators are professionally trained in equipment operations. Responsibilities also include ensuring safety and quality standards are being followed, production reporting, and assisting in lean manufacturing. In addition, the position will assist in reviewing and calculating labor, material, and other production costs along with reviewing schedules and future production requirements to assist management in decision-making.
Requirements:- Provide leadership for the successful day-to-day operation of the plant.
- Ensure safety policies are being adhered to in the plant.
- Analyze production and packing equipment to make recommendations on continual improvements.
- Work closely with plant and quality assurance personnel to review product quality consistency while monitoring yield rates and waste to determine trends and areas of improvement.
- Ensure all production paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Supervising the manufacturing processes, ensuring quality work is done in a safe, efficient manner.
- Diagnosing problems in the production line and providing recommendations and training.
- Establishing safety procedures and protocols that take the workers' well-being into account, and that also minimize the carbon footprint.
- Keeping abreast of advancements in engineering and production and sharing knowledge with co-workers.
- Identifying, documenting, and reporting unsafe practices.
- Assist in creating production schedules and budgets for projects. Scheduling meetings with relevant departments and stakeholders.
- Assist in obtaining materials and equipment required for projects.
- Work with Plant Manager and management team on the implementation, recording, and oversight of KPIs for each department.
- Analyze workforce requirements and guidance to all departments.
- Encourage and promote operations in a continuous improvement environment.
- Strategically plan to remove production constraints, allocate human/ equipment resources, and direct production employees to attain all established goals and efficiencies.
