Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to patients in various healthcare settings, including teaching hospitals, outpatient facilities, and trauma centers. Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for patients.
- Monitor and report changes in patient conditions to healthcare professionals.
- Help with mobility assistance and transfers for patients with limited mobility.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to hygiene protocols.
- Support medical staff by preparing equipment and assisting during examinations or procedures in settings like the OR or PICU.
- Document patient care activities accurately and timely in compliance with facility policies.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a similar caregiving role is preferred.
- Familiarity with various healthcare environments such as Level I and Level II Trauma Centers, medical-surgical units, or outpatient services is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety protocols within a clinical setting.
- Certification in CPR or First Aid is a plus but not required at the time of application.
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by healthcare regulations.
