HealthySkin Dermatology is hiring a full-time Dermatology Clinic Front Desk
Join us as our Dermatology Clinic Front Desk Team Member, where you'll play a crucial role in patient check-in and check-out, appointment scheduling, and coordinating patient procedures within our Skin Care and Mohs Department. Your responsibilities include patient appointment scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, product sales, and understanding health insurance details.
The ideal candidate brings experience in medical front desk / scheduling experience, health insurance knowledge and processes, prior medical office background, excellent communication skills, and a strong grasp of medical terminology. Cosmetic product knowledge is a plus. We value your ability to provide outstanding and prompt customer service to our providers, staff, healthcare partners, insurance companies, and patients.
Duties include :
- Patient check-in / check-out.
- Greeting of all incoming visitors and patients.
- Patient skin care services and Mohs surgery scheduling.
- Collects co-pays, deductibles, out-of-pocket, and other patient payments.
- Assists with patient product purchases and questions.
- Builds and maintains positive, professional relationships with internal and external referring provider offices.
- Collaborates with the Mohs surgeon, medical assistant team, and referring provider teams.
- Acts as a liaison between waiting patients and Mohs and Skin Care Staff.
- Learns protocols for repairs referred to outside physician offices by the Mohs surgeon.
- Monitors patients in reception area, communicates issues to Mohs surgeon and team members, as appropriate.
- Evaluates patient appointment, chart, and insurance data to verify all information has been received, is complete, and signatures have been obtained.
- Answers phone calls throughout the workday.
- Prompt and efficient coordination of care from Mohs Consultation to Scheduling of Repair with preferred plastic surgeon to final Mohs follow-up appointment.
- Authorization verification.
- Collaborates with the department manager, clinical director, provider teams, medical billing staff, and referring physician offices to resolve problematic authorization issues.
- Ability to input complete and accurate patient registration in the practice management and electronic health records systems.
- Other duties as assigned.
