In addition to clinical and administrative duties, this role includes lead responsibilities related to inventory management, compliance, training, and additional administrative tasks to support efficient clinic operations. This is not a supervisory role and does not include direct management of staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate patient records and update EHR systems
- Support front-office functions, including patient scheduling, registration, insurance verification, and referrals as necessary.
- Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and minor procedures
- Prepare and sanitize examination rooms, ensuring compliance with safety protocols
- Collect and document patient history and vital signs accurately
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and visitors
- Provide patient education and post-visit instructions
- Maintain and restock office and medical supplies as necessary
- Monitor and maintain medical and office supply inventory levels
- Order and track supplies to ensure adequate stock is available at all times
- Coordinate with vendors and purchasing teams as needed
- Ensure clinic areas remain in compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and HealthyU policies
- Assist with audits, documentation, and adherence to regulatory requirements
- Identify and report any compliance concerns to clinic leadership
- Assist in training new Medical Assistants on clinic protocols, procedures, and EHR systems
- Serve as a point of reference for clinical workflow questions
- Support ongoing education and best practices for existing staff
- Assist with coordination of daily clinic operations, ensuring efficiency in workflow
- Act as a liaison between clinical staff and administrative teams to facilitate smooth communication
- Participate in clinic improvement initiatives as assigned by leadership
- Highschool Diploma or GED
- Medical Assistant certification
- BLS certified
- Strong computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, EHR systems)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Prolonged standing, bending, and occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs)
- Reliable transportation is required for all positions, as occasional travel to other clinic locations may be necessary.
