Job Title: Insurance Authorizations Specialist (Bilingual - English/Spanish)
Job Summary: Join our nonprofit organization dedicated to exceptional healthcare as an Insurance Authorizations Specialist. We seek a detail-oriented professional with extensive experience in insurance authorizations and patient revenue cycle management. The ideal candidate will be bilingual in English and Spanish, adept with EMR systems, and skilled in managing complex insurance processes.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of insurance authorizations to avoid delays in patient care.
- Provide outstanding customer service through phone and in-person interactions.
- Manage the full insurance authorization process, including verification and approval of coverage, with a particular focus on Medicaid.
- Handle and process patient payments, providing clear explanations of benefits and financial responsibilities.
- Perform detailed data entry in the EHR system, tracking authorization deadlines, renewals, and other critical due dates.
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, efficiently managing check-ins and check-outs.
- Explain insurance benefits and procedures to patients, ensuring clear understanding.
- Utilize Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word for administrative tasks; experience with Practice Perfect Software is a plus.
- Communicate with clinicians to obtain required documentation to properly request and secure insurance authorizations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in obtaining and managing insurance authorizations for medical services.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10 coding, and insurance procedures.
- Expertise in navigating insurance authorization processes and managing complex cases.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, managed care plans, and Medicaid processes.
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with medical office software and a keen eye for detail.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality
