Job Overview :
Hearst Magazines is hiring a Senior Shooter / Editor to join the central video team in our West Coast offices. This person will be working across all of our brands, plus special projects. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced environment, be capable of balancing multiple projects simultaneously, and will be a problem-solver who is quick on their feet.
The ideal candidate will bring both creative and technical expertise to all projects they work on, across a range of verticals including beauty, fashion, fitness, pop culture, and more. Content varies from short-form digital content to longer-form docu-style content, so a solid understanding of storytelling is a must.
This position will report to the Supervising Producer.

Job Responsibilities :
- Lighting and shooting both on set and on location as needed
- Work with equipment / studio team to place gear orders and adjust as necessary based on availability
- Liaise with other cinematographers, ACs and PAs for studio setups
- Run audio on shoots as needed
- Work with producers to determine aesthetic for shoots, ensuring their creative vision is executed with video and sound
- Edit long and short-form content for multiple different platforms (on-site, YouTube, social media, etc), using the Adobe suite of applications (Premiere, After Effects).
- Must be flexible with working hours, some travel required

Qualifications :
The base salary for this role is between $74,000-$89,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as : transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
This is a position covered under the Writers Guild of America, East, Collective Bargaining Agreement.
