What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Heart Artery and Vein Center of Fresno?
Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare professionals with patient care, including taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and preparing patients for examinations
-Patient medication authorizations
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies
- Assist with minor surgical procedures and dressings (example: venous ablations)
- Provide patient education on medication use, self-care techniques, and preventive measures
- Maintain accurate medical records
Qualifications:
-Medical Assistant Degree/Certificate Preferred
- Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Proficiency in medication knowledge
- Basic life support (BLS) certification
- Excellent patient service skills and the ability to provide compassionate care
- Experience with EKG's is a plus
- Familiarity with clinical settings is preferred
