**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a part-time harvest intern to join our team at Heart & Hands Wine Company for the fall/harvest season. This is a hands-on position with opportunities to assist in many facets of vineyard management and wine production.
Description:
- Assist with the bottling of remaining 2024 wines
- Grape receiving, picking, sorting, and processing
- Juice and wine rackings and transfers
- Yeast and nutrient additions to juice and wine
- Equipment Cleaning and Sanitation
- Punch-Downs & Pump-Overs
- Barrel Prep / Filling
- Fermentation monitoring / Juice analysis (Brix, pH, TA)
- General winery clean up
Qualifications:
- Degree or coursework in winemaking/fermentation sciences is a plus
- Candidates should demonstrate passion for premium wine production, good communication skills, attention to detail, and strong work ethic
- Candidates must be able to physically perform all cellar duties related to harvest, vineyard management, and cellar work
- Willingness to learn our production methods and mind for quality control is a must
- Must commit to working full-time plus extended harvest hours through our harvest season
- Must be highly organized and maintain accurate attention to details
- Ability to multitask and work in fast-paced environment safely
- Ability to work flexible and extended hours on short notice
- Must have valid driver's license with good driving record and car to get to and from work
- Must be at least 21 years of age and have legal United States work status
Work Environment Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work extended hours in physically demanding environment
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk on uneven surfaces for extended periods
- Perform work duties inside and outdoors
Timing and Hours:
- Position runs from August through end of October
- Average 40 hours/week (some weeks more/some possibly less)
