The Project Manager role is a pivotal part of the Heart to Home family. This position drives the business forward and is on the frontlines of fulfilling our mission of tangibly improving the lives of our customers.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Customer Engagement – Build schedules, job logs and photos through our CRM.
- Sub-Contractor Management – scheduling subcontractors per construction schedule & quality control of work.
- Scope Management – responsible for raising awareness of any deviations from scope before work commences.
- Material takeoffs – ensure the Project Director knows what to order in a timely manner.
- Jobsite Prep – manage prep and protect the jobsite prior to beginning job
- Jobsite Clean-up – manage process to keep jobsite safe, clean and organized.
- Building code - Adhere to building codes and at a minimum know where to look, schedule and work with inspections.
- Skillset – framing decks, porches, additions, roofs, cutting in dormers and staircases, trim, caulking and filling, install shelving, cabinets, finishing out work and punch list.
- Manage - All trade work: demo, framing, insulation, foundations, flat work, landscape & hardscape, MEPs, drywall, window & door installation, siding & exterior trim, roofing & flashing, deck & porch framing, screening, all types of flooring, cabinetry & complex trim or built-ins, painting and punch out.
- Following Company Processes and Systems – ensuring compliance for every step.
- Communication - Ensure clear and consistent communication with the customer throughout the project, keeping them updated on schedules, construction progress, potential cost changes, and any arising issues. The goal is to keep the customer fully informed, set realistic expectations, and maintain open lines of communication as the project advances.
Requirements:
- Experience: 5 years in home construction related field, 2 years managing job sites.
- Education: High School Diploma/GED Equivalent.
- Mechanical Skills: ability to work with a variety of tools and machines.
- Math Skills: ability to measure materials to be cut and installed.
- Detail Oriented: ability to be very precise, measure distances and the size of items and an eye for detail.
- Critical Thinking Skills: ability to problem solve when issues arise in a project and foresee them before they occur.
- Leadership: ability to coach, develop and motivate people.
- Communication: ability to communicate effectively with clients and teams.
Physical requirements:
Job requires balance of sitting in front of a computer for several hours at a time and the physical strength to lift and wield heavy tools and materials, including lumber. Physical stamina is also required with most jobs require standing, climbing, lifting objects, and/or bending down for long periods at a time.
