Job Title: Field Support Technician
Overview:
We're seeking a dependable and experienced Field Support Technician to provide hands-on technical support and maintenance services for a wide range of systems and equipment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, working directly with end-users, and ensuring technology runs smoothly in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate and resolve complex installation and maintenance issues.
- Deliver on-site support for system installations, repairs, and servicing.
- Validate and ensure operational quality and functionality of system equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware-related issues, including installations, upgrades, and routine maintenance.
- Provide guidance to end-users on the proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
- Escalate unresolved issues to appropriate technical teams for further troubleshooting and resolution.
- Act as a liaison between customers and technical teams on assigned projects, ensuring smooth communication.
- Analyze recurring issues and provide reports on trends and system performance.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in field support or desktop support roles.
- Strong knowledge of ticketing systems and asset management.
- Proven expertise in hardware and software installation, support, and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with Windows XP, 10, and 11.
- Proficient with Mac OS and iOS environments.
- Skilled in printer support (especially HP), including configuration and consumable replacement.
- Working knowledge of:
- Active Directory
- Microsoft Office and Office 365
- Mobile device security
- VPN connectivity and security tools
- Experience imaging and setting up PCs/laptops using SCCM or manual methods.
- Remote support experience, including software and hardware installations.
- Basic understanding of networking principles and ability to provide “hands and eyes” support on-site.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
Preferred Education & Certifications:
- High school diploma or GED (required).
- Vendor certifications (e.g., Lenovo) are a plus.
- CompTIA A , Network , or Security certifications (preferred).
- Apple Certified Support Professional training (preferred, not required).
Work Environment:
- Office and walk-up tech support environments, including support for network printers and telco closets.
- Shift work and on-call rotation required.
- Occasional weekend work may be required for critical or high-priority incidents.
