What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shared District Special Education Coordinator position at Heartland Area Education Agency?
Description:
The Shared District Special Education Coordinator will work with the Van Meter Community School District and Earlham Community Schools four days a week to provides strategic leadership and coordination of special education services across one or more school districts while also serving in a designated role at Heartland AEA. This role is instrumental in planning and leading equitable access to high-quality special education services, fostering collaboration between districts, and supporting educators in implementing evidence-based practices to improve student outcomes. In addition, this position will provide services on behalf of Hearltand AEA one day a week.
Qualifications:
Candidates for this position must be appropriately licensed by the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners as a PK-12 Special Education Supervisor with Evaluator Approval and hold a Master's Degree in Education or a related field. Experience as a teacher, AEA practitioner or administrator is required, as well as successful experience partnering with schools or districts to achieve improved student outcomes.
