What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Care Teacher position at Heartland Child Care Ministry?
Teacher working with children aged 6 weeks to 5 years old.
Working 4(four) 10 hour days. 1 full day OFF during the week plus weekends off.
Changing diapers/potty training, helping with meals, leading circle time and class lessons, preparing crafts and activities, and following the base curriculum provided with freedom to personalize activities and crafts.
Purpose: We would love for you to join us as a caregiver at Heartland Child Care Ministry (HCCM)! Our mission is to honor God by providing a welcoming, safe, and clean childcare environment. As an HCCM Caregiver, you would provide kids with opportunities to learn and grow. By modeling Christ's love and teaching Christ's values, you would play a significant role in helping kids develop into the persons God made them to be.
Objectives: 1. Provide a clean, safe and structured environment where children can rest, play, learn and interact with others.
2. Engage each child in social, recreational and educational activities using and modeling Christian values and behavior.
3. Provide opportunities for children to actively develop their knowledge and faith in Jesus Christ.
4. Demonstrate consistent ability to function as a responsible team member of the HCCM childcare team.
5. Be open and responsive to both children and parent needs, questions or concerns.
Responsibilities: Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Prepare rooms, snacks, and activities each day, before all children arrive.
- Ensure the room is comfortable and age-appropriate for all children under your care.
- Greet each child when they arrive in a warm, welcoming manner.
- Be alert and responsive to children showing signs of illness or anxiety.
- Be available and open to speak with parents who have questions or concerns.
- Know and abide by the state rules associated with a registered Child Care Ministry.
- Ensure each child’s personal needs (food, hygiene, etc.) are consistently met.
- Maintain a structured and controlled environment at all times; Handle behavioral problems as they arise, documenting and reporting as required.
- Research and implement lessons and activities to nurture the spiritual, social, and intellectual needs of the children for whom they are responsible.
- Help orient and train other caregivers as appropriate.
- Attend all required staff meetings and training sessions.
- Help plan and participate in social/open-house events as they arise.
- All other responsibilities as assigned

Reports To: The Director of HCCM
Training and Orientation provided:
- American Heart Association CPR certification and basic First Aid.
- Instruction/training events in basic educational methods, childcare techniques and child development as required.
- Additional training or recurrent training as required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 per hour
