What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custom Applicator position at HEARTLAND CO-OP?
Applies agricultural chemicals and fertilizer by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reads and understands label information from manufacturers and distributors of pesticides, fertilizers, and other products containing hazardous chemicals.
- Evaluate label information to determine that directions for use are followed during application.
- Applies products in a timely, effective, and accurate manner.
- Follows guidelines for recording information on weather conditions, the product used, field conditions, and rates.
- Maintains equipment to ensure safe and accurate application. Performs or ensures routine maintenance is performed.
- Prepares, organizes, and maintains records to document activities.
- During non-application seasons, performs maintenance on the warehouse, location grounds, and equipment.
- Commercial Chemical Applicators License (1A,1B,1C) is required.
- Maintain a valid Class C Commercial Drivers License with proper endorsements and commercial insurability at all times. A valid DOT physical is also required.
- Other duties may be assigned.
