Description
We seek applicants for a full-time position within our to support and lead immersive STEM experiences for elementary and middle school students. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the Teaching and Learning Specialist will hire, supervise, onboard, and train part-time staff to ensure high-quality delivery of STEM experiences as guided by the Director. This position will communicate content and curriculum expectations and ensure staff are updated through established processes.
General Responsibilities :
- Lead the development and implementation of asynchronous and in-person training sessions for part-time CLC staff to ensure they are up to date on software, technology, hardware, and instructional resources.
- Create training plans and establish benchmarks for part-time staff to ensure they are equipped to deliver high-quality STEM experiences, while keeping them informed of any curriculum or content updates and approve timesheets to ensure accurate and timely processing.
- Assess part-time staff performance, providing feedback, coaching, and support to maintain and improve the quality of STEM experiences.
- Coordinate staff schedules in alignment with the needs of the Challenger Learning Center programs, ensuring effective communication with all team members.
- Oversee the hiring process for part-time staff, including conducting interviews and collaborating with the Director to make hiring decisions and onboard new staff.
- Manage IT and Facilities ticket submissions, ensuring timely resolution of technical and facilities-related issues, and following up with necessary stakeholders.
- Lead simulated space missions and other hands-on STEM experiences in the specialized facilities at the Challenger Learning Center, and in synchronous, virtual settings.
- Support positive relationships within STEM education, and with area businesses and organizations as directed by supervisor.
- Participate in professional development opportunities as suggested and approved by supervisor, including training to remain abreast of changes in software, technology, and hardware relevant to CLC experiences.

EMPLOYEE LEAVE
Vacation : 20 days (160 hours) per year with a maximum annual carry-over of 40 days (320 hours); Accrual of 6.16 hours will be granted on the last day of each pay period
12 days (96 hours) granted on start date; Beginning on the first anniversary, accrual of 3.70 hours will be granted on the last day of each pay period
8 hours granted on start date, then annually granted at the start of the calendar year on January 1
Special Leave : Available by approval for bereavement, emergencies, and legal requirements
