About the Position:
Join the Heartland Early Education team as a Parents as Teachers (PAT) Family Consultant and make a meaningful impact on the lives of young children and their families! As a Family Consultant, you will provide crucial support through home visits, group meetings, and developmental screenings. You'll empower parents with the resources, knowledge, and guidance they need to help their children thrive from newborn to age three. This is an excellent opportunity to connect families with community services and ensure a smooth transition to preschool or kindergarten. What You’ll Do:
- Conduct home visits with families, supporting them through goal-setting, educational development, and fostering parent-child relationships.
- Provide developmental screenings for children and share valuable parenting tips and resources.
- Assist in connecting families with vital community resources.
- Facilitate group meetings to promote parent involvement and share educational content.
- Help guide children through a seamless transition from home to preschool or kindergarten, ensuring their early learning and development needs are met.
What We’re Looking For:
To succeed in this role, you should have a passion for working with young children and families. The ideal candidate will have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Human Services, Family Services, Counseling, or a related field.
- Experience in early childhood programs or working with young children and their parents.
- Knowledge of child development and social service organizations.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to be flexible in a dynamic environment.
- Prior home visiting experience is preferred, though not required. Training in PAT model will be provided.
- A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record (you’ll be traveling to families' homes in Saline County; Heartland vehicles are available for employee use).
