Description:
The SUD Specialist / Assessor completes impartial and objective alcohol and drug assessments using the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Patient Placement Criteria, DSM-5 diagnostic criteria and rating the severity of alcohol/drug use to determine a diagnosis and recommend an appropriate treatment placement at the most clinically appropriate level of care.
HRADAC hires highly energetic self-starters, who can work autonomously in the community and focus on meeting client needs from a holistic, integrated strengths based model.
Responsibilities:
- Administer the SUD Assessment tool, and other screening tools to determine a chemical dependency diagnosis
- Rate the severity of alcohol/drug use as Mild, Moderate or Severe
- Recommend an appropriate placement at the safest and most clinically appropriate level of care in a treatment setting that matches the client needs
- Generate clinically appropriate referrals into community based recovery oriented systems of care
- Establish working relationships with contracted providers and other community agencies
Qualifications: Minimum required qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree / Master's degree
- Licensure through the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board of KS (BSRB)
- LAC – Licensed Addictions Counselor
- LMAC – Licensed Masters Addictions Counselor
- LCAC – Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor
- Computer skills require proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel & Outlook
- Ability to document client progress in electronic medical record
- Excellent interpersonal skills required - verbal and written
- Attention to detail required to complete documentation and reporting
- Ability to work autonomously and effectively with the public and staff
- Bi-lingual skills a plus
