Position Summary
General Labor positions perform a variety of tasks under close supervision with Department Leaders and work safely around various processes, equipment, and fellow employees. These tasks may include assisting with loading and unloading the paint line, moving product within the safety department, and supplementing the team to meet production standards.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Work safe and efficiently in a manufacturing environment producing steel safety products, and other projects as needed. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- The General Labor position can be assigned various task such as banding, stacking, packing, cleaning, grinding, painting, and assisting Machine Operators with essential support.
- Cleans and lubricates equipment, maintains a manufacturing area free from debris and dirt, and readies or puts away tools as assigned.
- Closely follows directions to operate machinery, hold or supply materials and tools, and load or unload items on machinery and assembly lines.
- Reports any issues to supervisor or higher-level employee.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
General Laborers should be quality minded and motivated to meet goals and deadlines that fluctuate with production demands. General Laborers must be able to read a tape measure and perform basic math skills. General Laborer’s must also possess advanced problem-solving skills, must be dependable, punctual and thrive in a team environment.
Education, Experience, and Skills:
Previous experience is preferred. Candidate must possess a superior work ethic, maintain superior attendance and punctuality, and be a team player.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to listen, understand, and follow directions.
- Must be able to read tape measures and perform basic math
- Previous experience preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Is responsible for personal safety and the safety of others in the workforce through adherence to safety regulations
- Must wear all personal protective equipment required in various areas of the operation and assure that this equipment is kept in good repair.
