Job Title – Director of Disability Services
Job Description: Assist in the development and execution of Heartland’s business strategies to attain company goals.
Specific Duties:
- Understands scheduling and oversees completion of staff schedules.
- Directly supervises middle management and DSP’s.
- Initiates discipline of DSP’s and mid-level staff.
- Helps drive maximum performance from middle management and DSP’s.
- Covers shifts as needed (last resort).
- Contact guardians as needed.
- Accepts and submits EMT’s as defined in policy (shared responsibility with DSP).
- Assists with DMH investigations.
- Participates in pop in visits in the ISL homes (including night and weekend shifts).
- Assists with and attends monthly house meetings and House Manager meetings.
- Completes DSP/House Manager evaluations with the DDP.
- Oversees survey/certification standards verification.
- Communicates with landlords and identifies rental homes as needed.
- Attends quarterly provider meetings.
- Serves as primary contact for Sikeston Regional Office.
- Monitors all issues with DSP’s.
- Completes ISL budgets/staffing patterns and submits to the appropriate Support Coordinator as needed.
- Ensures company policies (and revisions) are communicated in a timely manner to those supervised.
- Supervises staff and monitors all current and future DMH services provided by Heartland.
- Assists in the development of and oversees day habilitation services and staff.
- Identifies potential consumers.
- Assists in expanding services delivered by the company.
- Other duties as assigned.
