Job Summary:
The Material Control Clerk oversees the handling of all customer material from the time of receipt through time of shipment. The Material Control Clerk is a critically important team member responsible for bridging the gap between the leaders, customers, and the production front lines. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-starter who is committed to be an integral part of the team. Status:
Full-time, 40 hours per week. Overtime is available. The available shift is from 3 pm - 11 pm, Sunday through Saturday. Must be available to work weekends.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
The most important qualifications the right individual will possess are a strong work ethic, willingness to learn and grow, and physical strength and stamina. Producing a high-quality product, consistently and on time is essential. Above-average computer skills (specifically Microsoft Office Suite) are a necessity. This position may include manual labor - you may be lifting heavy metal parts and loading them into an operating furnace, shot blast machine, or different container, which means exposure to the industrial environment and severe temperatures will be experienced. You may be assisting the shift manager by instructing and/or directing others during your shift. You will also be on your feet for most of the day. You must be able to communicate clearly and in a professional and respectful manner with customers, co-workers, and managers, and value working as a team.

Educational/Technical Requirements:
High-school graduate or GED. Above average math, grammar, and writing skills are essential to the job classification.
Computer data entry experience – Microsoft Office Suite necessary. Direct experience in Material Control and previous Fork Lift Certification is preferred.
Job Duties:
- Physically inspect incoming material to match incoming paperwork.
- Enter receipt information accurately into Access, creating a receipt record.
- Utilize computer to generate shop travelers and tags for processing of parts.
- Prepare paperwork and physically tag each container received within one hour of receipt.
- Provide professional communication in customer relations via telephone and email concerning receipt of parts, status and shipment information.
- Excellent intercompany communications via direct communication, telephone, and email regarding the receipt of parts, shipment, and transfer of materials is a must.
- Organizing and lining up shot blast work, including outsourcing, to correspond with shipment schedules.
- Physical inventory is to be completed weekly and reported to the Plant Manager, General Manager & Accounts Payable.
- Preparing paperwork for shipment.
- Operating/navigating customer systems/websites to create applicable shipping documents including barcode labels, shippers, etc.
- Problem-solving, i.e., missing tubs, wrong tags, different heat codes, etc., completing Discrepant Material Reports. Contact customer for corrections if necessary.
- Responsible for UPS shipments.
- Prepare reports and envelopes for customers per their requirements for shipping.
- Verify traveler is complete when updating lot status.
- Forklift truck certification required; loading and unloading of trucks, organizing shipping and receiving areas, etc.
- Administrative duties as assigned by plant manager or shift manager.
- Sort parts when needed.
- Stack parts when needed.
- Load and unload furnaces when needed.
- And all other assigned duties.
Interaction:
Quality customer service is expected while interacting with customers, vendors, truck drivers, management and production workers. Also acts as support for production scheduling. Close interaction with the lab is essential for approvals and paperwork needed for shipping.
