What are the responsibilities and job description for the Admissions Advisor position at Heavy Equipment Colleges of America?
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for recruiting qualified applicants for admissions and enrolling students into the institution in accordance with state, federal, accreditation and institutional policies and regulations which are consistent with the highest ethical standards. The admissions advisor must then conduct high-quality phone and in-person discussions to advise and guide prospective students to the decision that is best for them, including enrolling in the institution.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Promotes safety within his/her assigned territory.
- Adherence to a proven process.
- Establish a working relationship with local and state government agencies (WIOA, Vocational Rehabilitation, VA, Local Workforce officials, etc.) to provide presentation and needed information regarding HEC programs and job outcomes for shared clients.
- Manage inquiries to achieve prompt contact and performance activity; utilize approved recruitment policies/formats; make prompt and effective contact with inquiries and redirect unqualified candidates based on incompatible career goals.
- Secure new inquiries (Personally Developed Leads) by directly asking phone and in-person contacts about referrals of others who would be interested in the institution's offerings.
- Schedule and conduct interviews; pursue qualified candidates for enrollment and determine appropriateness of candidates for admission based upon career goal compatibility.
- Document completed activities, notes and scheduling of future events as required in company database(s), CRM system or any other business operating system.
- Conduct all activities in accordance with the highest ethical standards. Adhere to all state, federal, accreditation and institution rules and regulations regarding student recruitment.
- Accurately and completely portray college educational programs, expected outcomes, student services, and financial consideration to students.
- Accurately forecast projected new students on a start-to-start basis for the management team.
- Consistently conduct follow-up at prescribed frequencies with all applicants to ensure successful matriculation.
- Generate interest in the school via participation in frequent recruitment and enrollment activities including; open houses, regional presentations, training sessions, orientation programs, career days, job fairs, etc. Adhere to the process of recording interest for future follow up.
- The position requires frequent in-state, out-of-state, regional travel as well as some evening and weekend work as required.
- Assist other personnel and departments when requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3 years related experience preferred, including but not limited to, admissions, recruiting or sales.
- Veterans with first-hand knowledge and experience with VA Benefits preferred.
- Highly ethical.
- Possess a sincere interest in helping others achieve career goals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with both faculty, staff, and students.
- Superior organizational and critical thinking skills.
- Proficient in MS Office as well as industry-related software packages and systems for data entry and reporting purposes.
- Ability to effectively interact in collaboration with all other departments to achieve campus goals.
- Ability to listen to customers and staff and be able to understand and respond in a positive manner to requests.
- Ability to adapt to changing assignments and manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and successfully meet deadlines and enrollment goals.
- Willingness to travel regionally, out-of-state, involving air travel or driving long distances and including multiple overnight stays.
