Job Summary:
The High School Boys Basketball Coach is responsible for leading and developing the boys' basketball program while promoting academic success, teamwork, and sportsmanship. This position requires strong leadership, coaching expertise, and the ability to foster positive relationships with student-athletes, staff, and the community.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
•Plan and conduct practices, develop game strategies, and oversee all aspects of the basketball program.
•Foster a competitive, disciplined, and positive team culture that emphasizes skill development and character building.
•Ensure player safety and adhere to school, conference, and AAA regulations.
•Monitor student-athlete academic progress and eligibility requirements.
•Manage program logistics, including scheduling, budget, fundraising, and equipment needs.
•Assist student-athletes with the college recruiting process.
•Maintain effective communication with players, parents, administration, and the community.
•Encourage and support multi-sport athletes, coordinating with other coaches to ensure balanced participation.
•Effectively manage and develop assistant coaches to ensure program consistency and growth.
•Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in education or related field (preferred).
•Valid Arkansas teaching license.
•High school or collegiate coaching experience (preferred).
•Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
•Commitment to strength and conditioning as a key component of player development.
•Ability to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends.
•Proficient with the use of Hudl.
