Job Title: Head Boys Basketball Coach Department: Athletic/Classroom Teacher Reports To: Building Principal & Athletic Director Teaching Field: To be determined Length of Contract: 220 days FLSA: Exempt Job Summary: The High School Boys Basketball Coach is responsible for leading and developing the boys' basketball program (7-12) while promoting academic success, teamwork, and sportsmanship. This position requires strong leadership, coaching expertise, and the ability to foster positive relationships with student-athletes, staff, and the community. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Plan and conduct practices, develop game strategies, and oversee all aspects of the basketball program.Foster a competitive, disciplined, and positive team culture that emphasizes skill development and character building.Ensure player safety and adhere to school, conference, and AAA regulations.Monitor student-athlete academic progress and eligibility requirements.Manage program logistics, including scheduling, budget, fundraising, and equipment needs.Assist student-athletes with the college recruiting process.Maintain effective communication with players, parents, administration, and the community.Encourage and support multi-sport athletes, coordinating with other coaches to ensure balanced participation.Effectively manage and develop assistant coaches to ensure program consistency and growth.Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in education or related field (preferred).Valid Arkansas teaching license.High school or collegiate coaching experience (preferred).Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.Commitment to strength and conditioning as a key component of player development.Ability to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends.Proficient with the use of Hudl.
