Job Description
The Infection Preventionist is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring infection prevention and control programs to prevent the spread of infections among residents and staff in long-term care settings. This includes providing education and training to staff on infection control practices, conducting regular rounds to monitor infection control practices, and maintaining records and reports related to infection control and prevention.

Requirements:
To be successful as an Infection Preventionist, you will need a valid state nursing license and a degree in nursing, epidemiology, biology, or microbiology. Infection Control and Prevention Certification is required prior to assuming the role. You will also need strong clinical, organizational, and decision-making skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
