Position Summary
The Manager of Instructional Design and Faculty Support will manage strategic direction of faculty development and instructional design of CANVAS courses with the respective faculty. This role blends hands-on support to enhance course delivery, integrate emerging technologies, and foster an engaging and accessible teaching and learning experience of faculty online and in-person. The manager will work closely with faculty to improve teaching practices, support innovative course design, and ensure that digital learning solutions meet academic needs and standards of instruction.
Please note that this is a part-time, fully remote position located in the United States.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Course Design and Development

Collaborate with faculty to develop course frameworks, learning objectives, assignments, and assessments, ensuring alignment with academic goals and best practices in online pedagogy.
- Design, develop, and integrate interactive content within learning management systems (e.g., Canvas), ensuring accessibility and alignment with online learning best practices.
- Assist faculty with content conversion into various digital formats, ensuring courses are accessible, engaging, and optimized for diverse learning styles.
Faculty Development and Support:
Provide leadership in the development and delivery of faculty training programs, covering instructional design, technology integration, and online learning best practices.
Offer ongoing guidance to faculty on using digital tools (e.g., Canvas, Google Docs, Google Meets) and aligning course content with educational objectives.
Support faculty in adopting new technologies and instructional strategies to improve student engagement and learning outcomes.

Education
- Doctorate in Education or Online Instruction preferred; Masters Degree in Education, Online Instruction or related field required.
Experience
- Experience with Online Pedagogy: Deep understanding of best practices in online teaching, including learning theories, course design strategies, and digital tools.
- Experience with Online learning and Online Learning Design Digital Content Creation: Familiarity with creating rich engaging content online.
- Experience in Higher Education (Preferred): Previous experience working within higher education, particularly in teaching support, instructional design, or faculty development.
- Demonstrated Leadership Skills: Ability to guide and influence faculty in adopting new teaching strategies and technologies, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Hebrew language proficient, and familiarity with Jewish studies.
- Strong Technical Skills: Proficiency in using various educational technologies, multimedia tools, and software for content creation and delivery.
Understanding of Educational Accessibility Standards: Knowledge of legal and technical requirements for ensuring digital content is accessible to all learners. -
