Hecker Fink LLP is seeking a Business Development and Marketing Coordinator to support a broad range of firm business development and marketing activities across our three offices in New York, Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles. Reporting to the Director of Business Development and Marketing, the successful candidate will take an active role in learning about the firm, lawyers, and clients, and work closely with colleagues across offices and departments to coordinate a range of integrated business development and marketing efforts. Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the execution of business development and marketing initiatives, ensuring operational efficiency and alignment with business goals.
  • Track, and assist in the preparation and submission of materials for industry rankings and awards. Collaborate with the Business Development and Marketing Specialist to gather relevant information and support submission processes.
  • Manage and ensure the accuracy of the firm’s CRM database, track business development and marketing activities, compile case and matter information, and other marketing content. Ensure information remains current and accessible, and provide administrative support as needed.
  • Support the planning and execution of business development meetings, conferences, and firm-hosted events, including collaborating with the Business Development and Marketing Specialist with organizing sponsorships.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations, pitches, and RFP responses.
  • Support the onboarding of new employees by drafting bios, scheduling headshots, updating internal databases, and coordinating external listings in industry directories and rankings, and other related tasks.
  • Gather and organize information for marketing collateral, attorney bios, and pitch materials. Ensure materials reflect the latest case experience, firm recognitions, and practice capabilities.
  • Conduct research on clients and prospective clients and gather market and competitive intelligence to support the firm’s business development strategy and goals.
  • Other responsibilities as needed.


Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a combination of employment, educational, and life experience that demonstrates the qualities and skills below:

  • Education and Experience: You have a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or another related field, and a minimum of one year of marketing, business development, or content development experience, preferably in professional services or law firms. Legal marketing experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge and Skills: You have a basic understanding of CRM software platforms (hands-on experience a plus). You have familiarity with event planning procedures and details. You have knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint; knowledge of web editing and email marketing software is a plus.
  • Clear Communication and Attention to Detail: You have outstanding communication skills, excel in both written and oral communication, and are able to develop strong relationships with attorneys and professionals at all levels, both internally and externally. You proactively communicate the status of your work and share updates with colleagues when necessary. You ensure that your work is mistake-free. You have excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Confidentiality: You must be able to adhere to Firm policies regarding the protection of confidential data and demonstrate sensitivity to (and good judgment in connection with) confidential attorney, personnel, and Firm matters.
  • Ownership, Initiative, and Teamwork: You are a dedicated self-starter who takes ownership of your projects and follows through on their completion. You proactively anticipate, communicate, and work independently and resourcefully to resolve obstacles you encounter in your work. You possess a strong customer-service orientation and ability to work well within a team.
  • Organization and Project Management, and Flexibility: You are comfortable balancing tasks of varying levels of urgency and complexity. You work well under pressure and are able to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. You are versatile and able to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities. You are flexible to be available after hours and to work overtime as needed. You demonstrate a "no job too big, no job too small" attitude, and take a collaborative, team-focused approach to rejuggling priorities and contributing to tasks across the Firm.

In addition, the successful candidate will be based in the New York, Washington, D.C., or Los Angeles area or willing to relocate, and will be available to work 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. This is a hybrid position.


Compensation: The expected base salary for this role ranges from $65,000 - $75,000 and is dependent on experience.
