The Human Resources Administrator is a critical member of the Lucky Friday Human Resources department, supporting site employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Hourly recruiting. Works with department managers and supervisors to recruit for open positions, including posting positions through ADP, screening applications, scheduling interviews, and extending approved offers to candidates selected.
- Completes onboarding for newly hired employees by:
Completing background and reference checks, and ensuring they pass all checks before starting work.
Setting up pre-employment physicals, drug screens, and essential functions tests, and ensuring they pass all tests/screens before starting work.
Preparing new hire documents and packets, confirming Technician Level with the Human Resources Manager and department manager, and adhering to the new hire calendar to determine start dates.
Conducting new hire orientation.
Reviewing and completing new hire paperwork with employees.
Entering employees into ADP HRIS, including setting up new hourly employees and updating hourly employee compensation and benefits.
- Performs HRIS data entry for hourly employees, including updating personal information, benefits elections, dependents, and beneficiaries.
- Monitors hourly performance appraisals. Ensures supervisors receive appraisal form and complete it according to schedule.
- Administers Lucky Friday FMLA program, ensuring compliance with federal law and company policy. Tracks employee time off under FMLA to ensure they receive their benefit. Updates spreadsheet to track time off.
- Answers routine payroll and HR related questions.
- Processes salaried employee timesheets, including collecting and tracking timesheets, and submitting them to corporate HR. Tracks salaried employee vacation and personal holiday time off, including updating leave spreadsheet semi-monthly.
- Completes employee separation paperwork, including providing separation letter to employee, sending evaluation form to supervisor for completion, notifying payroll, and contacting benefits providers and corporate HR.
- Organizes and maintains hourly employee files, including creating files for new employees, purging terminated employee files, scanning terminated employee files, and filing of documents.
- Employee relations, including coordinating employee activities, such as lunches and wellness activities.
- Assist with worker's compensation administration, including filing claims, scheduling doctor's appointments, and following up on claims.
- Supports Human Resources Manager with other administrative duties and projects as assigned.
- Assists with administrative tasks when requested.
- Communicate with co-workers, management, outside contractors and vendors, and employees in a courteous and professional manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Human Resources Management preferred.
Prior experience in Human Resources.
Demonstrated working knowledge of current HR practices and employment laws including FMLA, ADA, Worker Compensation, HIPAA, COBRA, etc.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
HRIS experience. Experience with ADP preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels.
