What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Technician position at Hecla Mining Company?
As our Warehouse Technician, you are responsible for the inbound receipt, storage, management, preparations and delivery of goods and materials to end customers in an underground hard rock mining operation to keep our production going and our profitability up. Every day you will ride a boat to the Greens Creek Mine on Admiralty Island west of Juneau, AK. You'll start every day organizing, scheduling, and prioritizing work activities to promote a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment. You will be called upon to work cooperatively with others as part of a team, and encourage collaboration, trust and openness among employees. To thrive in this role, you will manage inventory through cycle counts and ensure physical on-hand stock is reflected accurately in the database. We're on a remote island; you must know how to work independently, identify, and resolve problems in a timely manner.

Here's What You Can Expect In This Role
- Training first. Every hire is provided MSHA training in the first 4 days on the job. We also provide department-level training on not just what to do, but safety, as well.
- You will provide warehouse support to internal customers using your demonstrated commitment to safety and customer service.
- You will operate company equipment and vehicles safely while handling heavy and hazardous materials.
- You will prepare and distribute weekly barge lists and identify and resolve inventory issues.
- Safety is important. Every piece of equipment and each work area must be inspected before work starts. You will promote and personally observe safety procedures.
- You will have a team you can rely on - a team that will have your back.
