JOB DESCRIPTION
ASSISTANT CONTROLLER
The Assistant Controller will be a key member of the Hedger Operating Companys Finance & Accounting team. The candidate will be responsible for leading financial functions including accounting, tax, management reporting, budgeting, planning, performance analysis, and balance sheet management. The Assistant Controller will work closely with management to drive results and bring creative solutions to the organization.
JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage, direct, and ensure preparation, review, analysis, accuracy, and timely submission of all financial reports including profit and loss statements, cash flow statements, balance sheet, financial budgets and forecasts to management and other financial partners.
- Comply with all reporting, accounting and audit requirements imposed by regulatory bodies.
- Development and implementation of business plans, forecasting and budgeting, transaction structuring.
- Make certain that proper accounting policies, procedures and internal controls are in place to safeguard the assets of the Company and to ensure that all financial transactions are recorded in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Interact with all levels of the organization and possess a strong combination of interpersonal skills, business acumen, and technical competencies.
- Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports, ad hoc analysis, etc.
- Assist in payroll preparation and onboarding of new employees.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERTISE
- Bachelors in Accounting or related field. Masters degree preferred.
- 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in the financial, management and supervisory areas.
- Knowledge of accounting, finance, budgeting, cost control principles, and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage multiple projects and responsibilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
- Proficient with MS Office products and possess above average Excel skills.
