Location: 6941 Quarry Lane, Stanley, NC 28164

Job Title: Hammer Operator/Rock Breaker

Hourly Pay: $22-24/hr (depending on experience)

Reports to: Superintendent

Position Summary:

The Hammer Operator/Rock Breaker at the quarry sites breaks oversized rock in an efficient manner using an excavator and hydraulic hammer attachment. This position understands how to operate and maintain this specialized equipment. The Hammer Operator/Rock Breaker performs preventative maintenance on the machine to achieve maximum life while also putting safety first when operating. This is a highly specialized and consistent position at our sites. It is great for someone who likes to work alone and takes great pride in their work.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the job satisfactorily

· Able to break oversized rock in an efficient manner using an excavator and hydraulic hammer attachment

· Familiarity with operating and maintaining hydraulic breaker to achieve maximum life of attachment and components

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Operate excavator/breaker within the company guidelines and safety standards

· Perform daily pre-shift inspection of equipment and report needed repairs to the supervisor

· Performs preventative maintenance procedures such as lubrication and is responsible for good housekeeping of equipment

· Aides in the training of co-workers as needed

· Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor

Essential Functions, Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

· Pre-employment drug screening

· Able to work outdoors in most weather conditions

· Able to work in a physically rigorous work environment. Position may involve walking, standing, sitting, bending, and climbing stairs. Job may require crouching, stooping, or crawling.

· Able to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs.

· Able to climb steps/ladders

· Able to sit for hours

· Able to shovel material
