About the Role
Hedy Holmes Staffing Services is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Manager - Project Coordination for Steel Industries to join our team. As an Assistant Project Manager, you will provide support on planning, coordination, and direction for pre-construction and construction management activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with all document control as required by the project manager and project engineer.
- Facilitate and maintain working partnerships with customers, general contractors, and field employees.
- Provide support on planning, coordination, and direction for pre-construction and construction management activities.
- Aid in monitoring of contractors' activities to track start dates for projects.
- Aid in monitoring of field activities to ensure schedule is being achieved.
- Help review structural drawings for constructability and Standard details for field installation of material.
- Aid in review of Approval Drawings to ensure detailers incorporated Standard details and project specific detailing notes.
- Participate in project meetings and assist with issuing meeting minutes for the administration and tracking of relevant information and project statuses.
Requirements:
- 5-10 years of related experience in the structural steel industry or equivalent experience as a Project Coordinator/Engineer or Assistant Project Manager.
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Structural/Civil Engineering, or Business.
- General knowledge of fabrication and erection standards and procedures, AISC standards, and AWS codes.
