Pay Rate : $23.00 - $28.00 / hourly
Location : Lodi, CA
Schedule : Monday - Friday | 7 : 00am or 8 : 00am, working 8 hours shifts with overtime during harvest
Job Description :
The Cellar Master is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the wine cellar, ensuring the proper management of wine production, storage, and aging. This role plays a critical part in maintaining quality standards, managing inventory, and leading a team of cellar workers to ensure efficient and safe operations. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of wine production, cellar maintenance, and have strong leadership skills to manage both the technical and operational aspects of the cellar.

Duties and Responsibilities :
- Wine Production Oversight : Manage the production process including monitoring fermentation, aging, blending, and bottling. Ensure that all processes align with quality and safety standards.
- Cellar Maintenance : Oversee the upkeep and sanitation of the wine cellar, ensuring proper storage conditions (temperature, humidity) and handling of wine barrels, tanks, and bottling equipment.
- Inventory Management : Maintain accurate records of wine stock, production levels, and aging inventory. Perform regular stock checks and order necessary materials for production.
- Team Leadership : Supervise and train cellar staff, assigning daily tasks and ensuring compliance with safety and quality protocols. Foster a productive and collaborative team environment.
- Quality Control : Work closely with the winemaking team to ensure product quality, perform routine checks on wine quality during aging, and assist with blending and tasting.
- Equipment Operation and Maintenance : Operate and maintain cellar equipment such as pumps, filtration systems, and bottling machines. Troubleshoot and repair as necessary.
- Health & Safety Compliance : Ensure all cellar operations adhere to safety regulations, including safe handling of chemicals and equipment. Monitor safety practices and maintain a clean and organized cellar environment.
- Report Generation : Prepare and submit reports on inventory, production, and operational metrics. Communicate regularly with management regarding progress and challenges in the cellar.
