Purchasing Coordinator

Position : Purchasing Agent

Pay Rate / Salary : $70,000 - $75,000 DOE

Location : Oakdale, CA

Schedule : Monday - Friday 7 : 30am - 4pm

Job Description : The ideal candidate for this position will have 5 years purchasing experience in the Structural Steel industry, be able to read structural steel and erection drawings, have good negotiating skills, able to take independent actions based on decision making and problem solving skills, able to keep accurate records, and establish a good working relationship with our suppliers.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Re-Check drawings for listed finish and material grade noted
• Check bolt list and increase quantity of all sized 5% and increase 6 each for field bolts
• Issue Tekla / MTO list to Gabe to check stock on material
• Once Tekla list is returned purchase material coded as “P”
• Email and / or call 3 vendors for pricing and availability
• Issue PO # from “Purchase Order No Listing” spreadsheet on server
• Check-mark the “P” on list once that size material has been purchased in full
• Write purchase order # for bolts below the “P”
• Quote and sales order acknowledgment must be checked for accuracy
• Quote / Sales order acknowledgment with PO# written on top should be given to receptionist for entering into Foundation.

Qualifications : Must have Steel Background
