Hegira Health, Inc. (HHI), a private non-profit corporation, is one of the largest freestanding behavioral healthcare agencies in the area. HHI, accredited by the Joint Commission and licensed by the State of Michigan, provides a broad array of mental health and substance abuse treatment and prevention services to individuals of all ages.
Our Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic provides behavioral health support and crisis services for Transitional Aged Youth 16-25 years old.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:30 - 5:00.
PARENT SUPPORT PARTNER REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED
- Parent/caregiver of a child with a Mental Health Challenge
- Have working knowledge of community resources
- Possess a valid driver's license and meet the Employer’s driving standards
- Have or obtain during hire process a State of Michigan Chauffer’s license
- Possess basic computer skills to perform job duties
The Parent Support Partner must complete the Wayne County System of Care parent training and attend the 5-day MDHHS (Michigan Department of Health and Human Services) training and obtain the certification within 6 months of hire.
PARENT SUPPORT PARTNER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide peer delivered support, advocacy, and training for parents/guardians of children with Serious Emotional Disturbance accessing services within the Wayne County Community Mental Health System.
- Assist in the Person-Centered Planning process to develop specific goals for the treatment plan.
- Engage youth consumers and/or families after a crisis service to access aftercare follow up.
- Manage a caseload of up to 20 families.
- Assist in maintaining client’s case record and prepare reports.
- Assist in accessing, linking and/or identifying resources to meet needs of the client.
- Provide face-to-face contact with parents/guardians on caseload
- Complete progress notes and post them on Electronic Medical Record.
- Maintain a working knowledge of community resources.
- Utilize his/her personal experience of mental health system to assist other parents/guardians with children in the mental health system.
- Engage and empower parents/guardians to reach goals identified in treatment plan.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.96 - $20.96 per hour
