What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Director of Substance Use Disorder Services position at Hegira Health, Inc.?
The Senior Director of Substance Use Disorder Services will have the following scope of services for adolescents through older adults:
- Diagnosis: Substance use disorders, co-occurring SUD and Mental Health disorders
- Intervention: Treatment, Prevention
- Program Administration and Oversite
Responsibilities
Staff:
- Staffing and performance monitoring of clinic level Program Managers, Clinical Services Supervisors and select Coordinators.
- Assignment of responsibilities and creation and updating of job descriptions for clinic leadership positions – clinical and administrative.
- Liaison between assigned clinic leadership and executive team.
- Works with CHRO and clinic leadership on professional development goals and organizational engagement; training and coaching regarding supervisory skills and strategies.
- Works with COO to determine annual staffing plan, implements plan, monitors clinic leadership administration of plan and reports need to update.
- Works with COO to establish staff performance expectations by discipline and program, recommending adjustments to accommodate changing environment, payor requirements, licensing, workflow, etc.
- Participates in HR or COO driven staffing strategies workgroups.
- Recommends staffing changes to meet service needs and revenue expectations.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of required credentials, licensing changes and provides COO and CHRO with update.
Clinical Services:
- Implements clinical direction of the corporation consistent with annual corporate priorities, annual clinic goals and objectives.
- Recommends to COO short-term and long-term goals and objectives for programs during annual budget planning process.
- Monitors clinic leadership implementation of internal and external goals/performance indicators, including fidelity measures of EBPs.
- Recommends to executive operations proposals for new service development.
- Identifies opportunity to aligns programs across the corporation, to integrate, enhance, and develop team members and services between and within programs.
- Representative HHI with PIHP for clinically-related service issues.
- Applies technology and data to streamline clinical service delivery, maximize revenue goals, and provide direction to clinic leadership to optimize processes.
- Ensures adequate supervision is in place in the short-term or prolonged absence of a clinic management position.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of standards governing existing service provision and up-dates delivery plan(s).
Quality and Compliance
- Works with QCD to assist with adherence to regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures affecting programs and services.
- Actively participates in Quality Management Committee.
- Communicates and enforces clinical and operational policies and procedures to meet quality, standards,and payer expectations.
Financial
- Ensures clinic leadership are managing business effectively, coaches clinic leadership on improvement measures when achievement falls below 95% of performance goal.
Corporate Leadership
- Participates in determination of the annual clinical priorities of the organization and contributes clinical direction elements.
- Participates in Clinical Operations Management and all Executive Team meetings.
- Represents HHI at external meetings as assigned.
- Participates in HHI Board of Directors at the request of the Board members, CEO and/or COO.
- Assist the COO with submission of proposals for new programs and funding opportunities.
- Manages new and or continuation grant submissions.
Promotion
- Makes recommendations for staff engagement activities.
- Participates in Hegira Health marketing plan and activities to promote the clinical services and corporate presentation of Hegira Health to team members, potential clients, current and potential payers and the community at large, including media interviews, publications, social media and conference presentations.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in a Social Services or related field
- Current, full LARA licensure/certification issued by the State of Michigan
- Clinical Services Supervisor (CSS or CSS-DP) credential issued by MCBAP
- Ten plus years clinical experience with at least five years experience in the management of substance use disorders services
- Experience as a senior leader or executive team member
