We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Retreat Director / Spa Manager to join our Massage Heights 1604 & Bulverde Team. As the Retreat Director you will be responsible for leading and inspiring the team, delivering exceptional experiences to our members, guests, and team members while driving operational excellence. This role requires a blend of strong leadership, operational expertise, and a passion for the spa and wellness industry. You will oversee daily operations, exceed goals and KPI’s, ensure a smooth flow of business and a high level of Guest and Team service is provided every day, lead by example and be present in the day to day operations, foster a positive team through collaboration and adaptability, recruit and retain team members through best practices in onboarding, new hire training, ongoing training and coaching. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, effective communication, a goal-oriented mindset, and the ability to cultivate positive relationships with guests, members, and team members.

Key Responsibilities

Member and Guest Relationship:

  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with members and guests, actively addressing concerns and implementing retention strategies
  • Maintain a focus on Hospitality, not Customer Service
  • Create an environment where the team always goes the extra mile for the Guests
  • Deliver a “Five Star Experience” to every Guest or Member

Team Leadership And Development

  • Recruit, hire, onboard, train and develop a high-performing team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
  • Support current team members with ongoing training and development to enhance skills and product knowledge
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback and identifying opportunities for growth
  • Effectively manage Team Member scheduling, payroll, and other HR-related tasks
  • Proactively address team member concerns, resolving conflicts fairly and efficiently
  • Participate in leadership team meetings and contribute to overall Retreat strategies and goals

Operational Excellence And Revenue Growth

  • Oversee all daily operations, ensuring seamless service delivery, high standards of cleanliness and ambiance, and adherence to Massage Heights policies and protocols
  • Manage inventory, supplies, and equipment effectively, minimizing waste and maintaining optimal levels
  • Monitor the sales performance of team members, providing regular training, coaching, and support
  • Collaborate closely with all members of your team and the Leadership Team on accountability and performance management.
  • Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies to drive revenue and increase new Guests and retention, including targeted promotions, packages, and local partnerships
  • Ensure operational standards according to Massage Heights policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) – including membership base (net active goal), conversion rate, gift card sales, product sales, package sales, and elevations – and implement strategies to improve performance
  • Educate the team on how their actions directly impact KPI results
  • Ensure all sales goals are consistently being met, adapting strategies as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing a team
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience coaching and training
  • Proven experience in spa management or a similar leadership role
  • Knowledge of spa services, treatments, and wellness trends
  • Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience selling memberships in a membership modeled business
  • Sales-oriented mindset with the ability to meet and exceed goals

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous spa/wellness industry experience
  • Experience using Zenoti

Schedule Requirements

  • Ability to work 45/ hours a week including weekends and evenings
  • Typical weekly schedule would be Tuesday-Saturday 8am-5pm*

Compensation: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
