What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Drafter position at Heim Bearings?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
- Provide mechanical designs, drawings, and related information for customers, suppliers, and manufacturing using CAD, PDM, and related software
- Work with other departments on moderately complex tasks to identify the best course of action
- Analyze the design for tolerance stack-up, ease of manufacture, and compliance to requirements/standard processes/specifications/etc.
- Provide mark-ups for other team members
- Check the work of other team members for accuracy and compliance with current practices
- Update department procedures
- Support special initiatives within the department
EDUCATION:
- Certification / degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
EXPERIENCE:
- 2 years of mechanical drafting/design/engineering or equivalent experience
- Education which would provide the level of knowledge, skill and ability required for this role
SKILLS / CERTIFICATIONS:
- Mechanical drafting
- General knowledge of Heim products and manufacturing processes
- Solid modeling and drafting in SolidWorks
- CAD and PDM Software
- Communicate effectively, orally and in writing
- Inquisitive
- Strong skills in Excel and other Microsoft 365 software
- Documentation / taking notes
