What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Service Technician for Mechanical Equipment position at Heim - Rousselle Metal Stamping Presses?
We are seeking a Mechanical Stamping Press Assembler to become an integral part of our team! You will perform assembly line tasks as well as identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency.
Responsibilities:
• Repair and Troubleshoot Mechanical Stamping presses at customers' sites.
• Coordinate and Perform machine installations, relocations, trainings, inspection/maintenance, modifications, in addition to trouble shootings, and repair.
• Coordinate and supervise sub-contractors and/or the customer's maintenance personnel, if necessary
• Provide technical phone support for trouble shooting and/or repair
• Read and understand CAD Drawings of mechanical systems, understand electrical schematics, repair simple hydraulic systems, understand basic computer control instruction manuals and load simple commands in machine control systems.
• Troubleshoot simple AC & DC electric circuits.
• Internal training period will be required in our assembly and testing operations for product familiarization.
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Outstanding people-skills including customer service with attention to detail both on-site and over the phone.
• Ability to work at a desk with parts books and manuals, work out of a toolbox in the assembly area and in customer's plant doing warranty and repairs.
• Climbing ladders and working in platform lifts are required.
• Some overnight travel for field service repairs and new machine installation are required.
• Must be able to work unsupervised, plan your work schedule, self -starter, and be able to multitask.
• Must be able to schedule own travel plans, motels, and rental cars.
• A valid IL driver's license is required to drive Company Service Truck.
• 3-5 years of direct service/mechanic experience servicing, testing, inspecting, troubleshooting, operating, and maintaining industrial machinery equipment, preferably metal stamping presses
• Applicant must be able to lift 50Ibs and stand for long periods of time.
Salary : $70,000 - $90,000
