PAY RATE HOURS:
(Including shift differentials weekend differential)

1ST SHIFT (7a-330p)
$21.75 – $23.75

2ND SHIFT (3p-1130p)
$23.75 – $25.75

3RD SHIFT (11p-730a)
$22.75 - $24.75

The Unit Manager (UM) is responsible for the overall management of the resident living area; the supervision of the direct care staff and the coordination of the services provided by other members of the interdisciplinary team. In an assigned unit, the Unit Manager is responsible for assuring that all services are delivered in an effective, caring, and cooperative manner.

The Unit Manager is the initial point of contact for department heads, specialists, and team members for the distribution, collection, and sharing of information. The Unit Manager conveys to the unit staff all policies, standards, schedules, and memos, and assures that there is a clear understanding by all.

The Unit Manager resolves at the unit level operational, scheduling, and staffing issues. The Unit Manager implements and maintains established reporting systems in order to accurately record data on the quality and frequency of services delivered to the residents.

At all times, the Unit Manager is expected to maintain open and cooperative relationships with unit staff, department heads, and other Unit Managers.


Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervises, instructs, assists and evaluates Direct Care Assistants (DCAs)
  • Assigns residents to DCA's fairly and impartially
  • Maintains accurate records and documentation of DCA work performance, corrective action, and attendance
  • Plans and prepares work schedules to assure adequate direct care coverage on the unit and throughout the facility
  • Evaluates individual DCA performance periodically and provides ongoing feedback.
  • Documents, reports and takes action on inappropriate DCA behavior
  • Relays DCA's concerns to appropriate personnel
  • Ensures a safe working and living environment for staff and residents
  • Participates in interviewing and selection process for new DCA's
  • Trains or assists in training new DCA's via on-the-job or in-services

Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds regularly and push individuals who weigh up to 200 pounds in wheelchairs.
  • Must be able to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel; stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk and hear.
  • Must be able to stay awake for the entire shift.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both written and in oral form
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • CPR/ First-Aid Certification
  • Valid Drivers License with less than 5 points
  • Proof of auto insurance
