GCP Application Developer

Job Summary:

Heitmeyer has a banking client that has a need within their Business Application team for a Cloud Application Developer to support the design, deployment, configuration and optimization of applications on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role is open for full remote; however, not available in several states/locations including CA/MT/PA/VT and Washington, DC.

Job Description:

The Cloud Application Developer (GCP) is a multi-threaded role critical to both operational and project level initiatives related to the corporate server and compute infrastructure. This role is responsible for executing projects, optimize the compute infrastructure and be an escalation point for any operational issues resulting from systems outages or overall systems/compute environment performance.

Top Required Skills:

• Must have significant experience – prefer 5 years – of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) involving design, deployment, configuration and optimization of applications.
• Solid background in design and operation of large scale enterprise infrastructure, databases and application systems and using React, Next.js and Node.js to build efficient solutions.
• Require experience in version controls systems and CI/CD pipelines with Gitlab.
• Additional technology expertise with Python Scripting, Kubernetes, and Cloud Networking.
• Strong communication skills that enable individual to work well across team along with technology and LOB partners.
• Solid problem-solving skills with ability to work independently.

• Familiarity with financial services industry and banking related applications/products.
• Background in API development, implementation and microservices architecture.
  
  
  

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain GCP applications and infrastructure using React along with Next.js framework for server-side rendering and enhanced performance.
• Understand and develop server-side logic and APIs using Node.js.
• Working with Gitlab for CI/CD pipelines.
• Create and deploy containerized applications through Kubernetes or Docker.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of cloud services on GCP.
• Automate operational tasks and processes to optimize cloud service operations.
• Monitor cloud services, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements as needed.
