About the Position
The Helen Ross McNabb Center is seeking a Counselor and Educator to join our team in Cocke County, Tennessee. This role requires a strong understanding of mental health services and experience working with children and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualized education plans (IEPs) for identified students.
- Develop and implement classroom-based interventions to support student success.
- Conduct group counseling sessions and provide advocacy, linkage, and referral services as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation according to HRMC and CARF standards.
- Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and students to create a supportive learning environment.
Requirements
- Masters degree in a human services field such as counselor or social work.
- Two years' experience working with children with emotional or behavioral problems or two years of experience with adolescent substance use/abuse prevention.
- Experience leading groups and trainings, as well as course work in cultural diversity, human development, and treatment of mental illness.
- Licensed or licensed eligible.
- Ability to effectively counsel children and families and present professionally within a team format.
