This full-time ten-month per year position provides general secretary support for the Project for Alternative Learning program. Qualifications include: high school diploma or equivalent; one year of secretarial experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience as determined by the district. Experience with word processing, spreadsheets, newsletter publishing, and PowerSchool or other similar computerized facility management software is desired. Prior successful experience working in a school setting and with the general public is preferred. Entry level salary is $17.98 per hour without in district recognized experience and includes a comprehensive benefit package including coverage during the summer break.

SUMMARY: This position oversees Student Records/Transcripts found in Powerschool and this person schedules.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
Daily use of Powerschool- updating student records and transcripts
Responds to routine telephone inquiries regarding general high school policies and procedures.
Stores grades at the end of the quarter/semester
Prepares materials for printing and distribution to students, parents and/or guardians, staff and the school community.
Maintains accurate files and records.
Facilitate student registration and transcripts
May perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one-year of secretarial experience or training or an equivalent combination of experience and training as determined by the district.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before parents, staff and students.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to pass a typing test at 55 words per minute. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal and mainframe computer and related software. Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community. Patience in dealing with members of the school community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
