Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Maintenance Assistant to help maintain the overall condition of our properties. This role involves assisting with routine maintenance tasks, minor repairs, and ensuring a safe and well-kept environment for tenants and staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to perform basic maintenance duties efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with general property maintenance, including basic repairs and upkeep of buildings, common areas, and outdoor spaces.
- Perform minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting tasks as needed.
- Respond to maintenance requests from tenants and management in a timely manner.
- Inspect properties and report any maintenance issues or safety concerns to the supervisor.
- Help with apartment turnovers, including repairs and cleaning of vacant units.
- Ensure proper operation of tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies.
- Assist in seasonal property maintenance, such as snow removal, and leaf cleanup.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of maintenance areas and storage spaces.
- Follow all safety guidelines and company procedures.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in maintenance, handyman work, or a similar role preferred.
- Skills: Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general maintenance.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs, and work in various weather conditions.
- Other: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
