Helias Catholic High School is seeking a detail-oriented and organized financial assistant to support our finance office team. This is a full-time position in an office environment.
The ideal candidate will assist in financial record keeping, budgeting, reporting, and with some light administrative assistant duties. The role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities for this position include:
- Assist with preparing financial data and general bookkeeping.
- Process invoices, payments, and receipts accurately and on time.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate financial records.
- Assist in reconciling accounts and resolving discrepancies.
- Help with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and verify accuracy of information.
- Help maintain and update donor files.
- Monitor expenses and assist with cost control initiatives.
- Support the finance office with creating and setting budgets.
- Ensure compliance with all school and diocesan policies.
- Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation to auditors.
- Assist with payroll processing and other HR-related financial tasks.
- Help manage student accounts and donor files and provide stellar customer service to all clients.
- Provide general administrative support to the finance office and president.
The ideal candidate possesses the following qualifications:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Associate’s or bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field preferred.
- Knowledgeable in basic accounting/bookkeeping practices and processes.
- Professional demeanor and excellent customer service skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet software.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Blackbaud, eTapestry) is a plus.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communicator, both spoken and written.
- Dependable, respectful, and consistently works to uphold organization ethics and standards.
