What are the responsibilities and job description for the Civil Engineer position at Helion?
We are looking for an entry-level civil engineer to join our team in Grapeland, Texas. This role is for recent graduates with co-op or internship experience in civil engineering. You will work alongside experienced engineers to support the design, analysis, and improvement of mechanical systems used in steel manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in designing and optimizing mechanical components for manufacturing equipment.
- Support the evaluation and improvement of mechanical systems to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Perform engineering analyses (stress, thermal, motion) to solve design problems.
- Help create technical documentation, including drawings and reports.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues on the production floor and propose solutions.
- Collaborate with senior engineers on design and process improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
- Previous co-op or internship experience in mechanical/civil engineering is preferred.
- Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.) and engineering simulations.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems and manufacturing processes.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
