What are the responsibilities and job description for the Close Interval Survey (CIS) / Corrosion Technician position at Helios Rising, Inc?
We are currently seeking an experienced Close Interval Survey (CIS) / Corrosion Technician.
The CIS/Corrosion Technician is responsible for conducting pipeline integrity surveys to assess the effectiveness of cathodic protection systems. This role requires travel throughout the United States, pipeline fieldwork, data collection, cathodic protection trouble shooting, and reporting to ensure pipeline compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform Close Interval Surveys (CIS) to evaluate cathodic protection effectiveness
• Conduct Direct Current Voltage Gradient (DCVG) and Alternating Current Voltage Gradient (ACVG) surveys as required
• Collect and document survey data accurately using specialized equipment
• Prepare detailed daily reports of findings and provide results to project managers
• Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations
• Operate and maintain survey equipment and tools
• Work collaboratively with team members and project coordinators to complete assigned tasks efficiently
• Travel to job sites as required
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Previous experience conducting CIS or similar pipeline integrity surveys
• Knowledge of cathodic protection systems and pipeline integrity principles
• Ability to interpret survey results and provide accurate reports
• Proficiency with data collection software and GPS mapping tools
• Inspection & maintenance of rectifiers, RMU’s, & cathodic protection systems
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including extreme weather
• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• NACE CP1 certification (CP2 preferred but not required)
