Position Overview
The Dean of Culture plays a vital leadership role in creating a positive, structured, and engaging environment for students and staff. This role requires a leader who can build strong relationships, implement school-wide behavior systems, and model high expectations for behavior, accountability, and respect.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a strong, positive school culture aligned with the school's core values.
- Lead the design and implementation of behavior systems, rituals, and routines.
- Support teachers in developing strong classroom culture and student relationships.
- Lead restorative practices, conflict resolution efforts, and student interventions.
- Monitor and analyze behavior data to identify trends and inform proactive strategies.
- Oversee arrival, transitions, lunch, dismissal, and other key parts of the school day.
- Collaborate with families, counselors, and support teams to ensure student well-being.
- Serve as a visible presence throughout the building and mentor students consistently.
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
- 2 years experience working with high school students in urban or high-needs settings.
- Demonstrated success in managing student behavior and supporting school culture.
- Strong belief in restorative justice, relationship-based discipline, and equity.
- Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Bilingual or multilingual a plus.
