Job Summary:
The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for company-wide HR-related duties. In this role, your responsibilities will support the following functional areas: employee relations, performance management, training and development, onboarding and off-boarding, benefits administration, HR policy and procedure implementation and updates, and labor law compliance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Employee Relations:
- Act as the main point of contact for employees, addressing concerns and inquiries
- Facilitate conflict resolution and promote a positive work environment
- Maintain employee records and ensure proper documentation
Performance Management:
- Assist with performance evaluation processes and provide support to managers
- Help identify employee training needs and assist with performance improvement plans
Compensation & Benefits:
- Administer employee benefits programs (health insurance, Cobra, retirement plans, etc.)
- Ensure that compensation policies align with company goals and industry standards
- Support employees with benefits-related inquiries
Training & Development:
- Coordinate training programs and career development initiatives for employees
- Ensure that employees comply with mandatory training requirement
- Manage all administrative tasks for onboarding, new-hire orientations, and exit interviews, including data entry in human resources information systems
Compliance & Policies:
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Update and maintain HR policies and procedures in line with legal changes
Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience as an HR Generalist or in other HR roles
- Knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices
- Experience with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) such as Rippling or Bamboo and payroll systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
- Professional HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred
Compensation:
This will be a salaried, exempt position. Compensation to be discussed relative to experience and abilities. This position will be open to the company yearly bonus and retirement savings programs.
